Good Photoshop tutorial to remove unwanted elements
Hi, in this Beginner level Photoshop tutorial, we are going to use the Clone Stamp to remove unwanted elements from our original photo above. This tutorial should take about 5-10 minutes to complete so here we go …
We have a photograph here of a professional dance group in Los Angeles. The girls would like to use this photo for an advertising promo, but would like to remove the photography credit stamp at the bottom left and they also did not like the edge of the white poster that’s hanging at the top left of the image. This is a really easy task to complete in Adobe Photoshop.
I simply click on the Cone Stamp in my Photoshop tools area. I’m going to get rid of the photography credit stamp at the bottom of the photo first. Pressing the alt key on my keyboard along with clicking on a dark area of my photo, I pick up the clone stamp that I would like to use. I then start painting over PacificProDigital.com, until it is entirely blacked out. This is the result from the clone stamp:
Since the unwanted element at the top of the photo is a little larger, I click on the brush size for the Clone Stamp to enlarge it. I then repeat the same steps I just did for the bottom of the photo. I could use the same smaller brush size, but enlarging the brush just makes my job a little quicker to finish. Below is your final product.

Easy Photo Retouching Photoshop Tutorial
Above are the before and after results from our origianl image. We are going to use of a dancer from a recent show in Los Angeles, CA. The dance group would like to use this image for a flyer for an upcoming event. We are going to show you some quick, easy, good photo retouching that can be used for any photograph.
I then use the selct tool, along with the shift button, to select the dancer’s leg. I want to take out some of the ripples and dimples for a smoother look with the Gaussian Blur tool. This is the result:
I then use the Selct Tool again on the dancer’s face. Because of her skin tone, the select tool also picks up her shoulder and arm, which is fine with me.
I used the Gaussian Blur tool again with a radius of 1.2 to soften her facial features. This is the result:
Now that I’ve softened her face a little, I want her eyes to pop a litle more so I use the Selct Tool again on all of her eye whites. Use the Shift button to select all of the eye whites at the same time. I tehn go to Image, Adjustments, then to Brighten/Contrast to brighten her whites in her eyes. This is the result:
As you can see, her eyes are popping nicely, which makes her makeup more complimentary to her skin tone.
I could leave the touch ups alone at this point, bud decide to go back to my trusty Select Tool. I click on the dancer’s hair, which is black. The tool selects her hair and much of the dar background with just one click, which is just what I needed.
I then click on Images, Adjustments, Brighten/Contrast again. I brighten the selected part of the image by 28 and tweak a little with the contast bar again. This is the result:

Our girl is really starting to look professional, but I have one more little tweak that I want to implement on her. Without selcting anything, I go back to Image, Adjustments, then to Hue/Saturation. I increase the Sauration by +27 and leave it at that. I could probably play with this image for another hour tweaking colors and balances, but decide to end the tutorial here. This is your final image:
